DTT is not dead in the UK: Ofcom (the regulator) has approved a new mux to carry 10 new HD channels – how that technically works is somewhat of a question since that amounts to around 4Mbit/s per channel on average without moving to HEVC. The BBC is launching 5 new HD channels: essentially HD simulcasts of existing (less premium) channels.
