TotalChannel: a new interesting OTT platform for Spain. It features international premium channels live and on demand. Innovative, but will it be competitive in the tough space of Spanish Pay TV, or will it find its niche. It may have a low upfront investment; thus a low break-even point. No settop boxes, no smartTVs mentioned but this is part of the ambition.

UltraViolet invisible?
UltraViolet is not making it. Why? It seems to have all necessary ticks to make it a success: persistence of ownership of content and licenses (no crashing HDD and all content is lost), etc. etc. But (at least in my opinion) it is not trying very hard to promote itself as the best option so far. And maybe physical ownership (BD, DVD) is simple and appealing to many.Do not hesitate to react.

Major DTT change in Russia

Ultra HD-HEVC first for SES
Landmark event: the first UHDTV HEVC transmission on SES-Astra: of great symbolic value.
Zeebox keeps making progress
Zeebox, the uncrowned champion of 2nd screen interactivity is moving ahead steadily. This seems to support the fact that 2nd screen apps are not an easy win with the consumer (see 2nd-screen usage statistics). But the fact that they still exist and continue to make headway means that we should not write off the category of dedicated (aggregating) 2nd screen apps yet.
